KKK, ZIMMERMAN AND OUR FUTURE

This is a blog post I meant to write prior to the Trayvon Martin murder case verdict, but the post’s message hasn’t changed.

A few days before George Zimmerman was found innocent of murdering Trayvon Martin, a Ku Klux Klan umbrella organization called the United Klans of America distributed flyers in Milford, Connecticut telling the town’s residents about the local Klan group’s “neighborhood watch” group.

I couldn’t help but make a connection between the Milford Klan incident and Martin’s death at the hands of Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer.

Neighborhood watch groups are not new to America’s history with race relations, but I still believe Zimmerman’s acquittal will become the  hunting license of the Klan and its ideological lovers, north and south of the Mason Dixon Line…
