This week’s Sunday Smack explores President Barack Obama’s war record.
As the New York Times notes, President Barack Obama is on track to have managed one or more overseas conflicts every single day of his two-term White House tenure, which will set a new record for the amount of time any US President has led the country during war time.
Asking whether or not these wars are justified or preventable will likely draw the usual partisan responses, so I’ll avoid that question in favor of two others.
First, what would be your response if President George W. Bush managed two complete terms of war? Head’s-up: this is a loaded question.
Second, does President Obama’s war record warrant a reexamination of the 2009 Nobel Prize he won? Why, or why not?
