We know the Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL 03) story by now — he called Rep Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY 14) a “Fucking bitch” over her thoughts about the connection between poverty and crime, subsequently offered a non-apology of an apology to Rep. AOC.
And then AOC’s provided an elegant response to that non-apology.
But here’s what AOC likely had too much class to say on the floor of Congress, but I will say now: I wouldn’t be surprised that any family man who calls women work colleagues all kinds of “bitches” also beats his wife and daughters at home, or otherwise routinely abuses the women in his life.
I pray for Rep. Yoho’s family, since I can’t say that any prayer this self-declared lover of God tosses above his head comes from a place of supplication.
Yoho said in his non-apology: “I cannot apologize for my passion, or for loving my God, my family, or my country.”
A self-proclaimed Christian man who loves God would know that any earthly interaction Jesus had with women came from a place of equity.
A man who loves God would never take on a hateful demeanor against women.
A man who loves women would never take on a hateful demeanor against women.
A man who loves God and is pro-life would have never opposed anti-lynching legislation.
A sane man who loves God wouldn’t think the Civil Rights Act is unconstitutional.
A sane man who loves God would have no room for enough hatred in his heart to think a tax on tanning salons is a racist tax.
But a man who loves God would realize that his refusal to apologize for calling AOC a “Fucking bitch” and then blaming the transgression on his “passion” is a clear admission to the world that he loves his passion more than he loves his God.
And God’s never pleased with hateful people like Yoho.
Yoho supporters who don’t like what I just wrote should know their beef isn’t with me, but with the Good Book Yoho claims to follow.

Congressman Yoho has no moral place in a conversation among people who are down with pro-life and equity for women.
But I guess those daily moral contradictions are the way Republicans roll.
The authorities should perform a welfare check on Yoho’s wife and daughters. For real …
