Along with providing safe place for bigots to be bigots and becoming a mass media target as Russian President Vladimir Putin’s boy, presidential candidate Donald Trump has earned a new distinction — an endorsement of sorts by the medieval warriors of Islamic State (ISIL).
(Laughing) a lot of knowledge must be a really dangerous thing, which would explain why the American public is being safely led away from it …
Let’s first discuss what should be common knowledge by now: Trump is a walking recruitment sign for all kinds of Islamic extremist groups. This is an inevitably cyclical byproduct of deploying an extremist solution to an extremist problem. Look no further than Bush the Second and Osama bin Laden for proof.
But making Trump the American gathering point for Islamic State love is intellectually dishonest, if not downright insulting. I’ll also add that starting any discussion about Syria’s civil war with how President Obama is an undercover Muslim who big-ups Jihadists at any available moment is dumb.
HOWEVER — as I turn away from the Alt-Right to focus on Liberals for a moment — a more relevant story is the way Team Obama, in pursuit of regional, hegemonic objectives, has created fertile ground in Syria for Islamic extremists to not only form and grow, but the administration’s tactics are also destroying much of the Middle East while creating a global refugee crisis.
It’s amazing how the “fertile ground” part is ignored by so-called Progressives.
But this piece won’t.
Let’s dispose of the BS line about America arming and supporting moderate Syrian rebels to overthrow Syria President Bashar Al-Assad.
These cats are not moderates.
But if you think they are, take a look at how these moderate Syria rebels, backed by American tax dollars, pracice moderation. This video shows members of the US-backed US-backed Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement beheading an injured Palestinian boy in Aleppo, Syria. Be warned: this video is highly graphic:
You can thank BBC Foreign News producer Riam Dalati for bringing that video to our attention.
Admit it, yo — beheading isn’t moderate behavior. Extremists do that kind of thing. And Team Obama supports it.
The administration appears to have cast aside its own self-discovered evidence that America’s proxy wars have historically made funky situations even worse, and is engaged in the unfathomable: much of the arms and equipment the US provides to the so-called moderate Syria rebels have landed in the hands of Jihadists.
And yet, the US hasn’t stopped the weapons pipeline from flowing.
Foreign Affairs published a must-read piece about this continual weapons siphoning:
Hard-core Islamists in the Nusra Front have long outgunned the more secular, nationalist, Western-supported rebels. According to FSA officers, Nusra routinely harvests up to half the weapons supplied by the Friends of Syria, a collection of countries opposed to Assad, and has regularly smashed FSA factions that were corrupt and inefficient — or that Nusra thought were getting too strong or too popular.
The US is well aware of this and continues to enable the provisioning of weapons. Tons of weapons. To fanatics who dig beheading boys.
In fact, Jihadist fighters in Syria have been receiving arms shipments, thanks to America and the Gulf states, for years.
A UK Ministry of Defense report concludes that US allies Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar have been covertly supporting Islamic State Fighters. I suppose the US had no idea …
A relatively rational thought comes from Peter Wittig, Germany’s ambassador to the United States, who politely said his country refuses to send arms to the Syria rebels because no one can clearly see if the right people are being armed.
The US supports Syria rebel groups Ahrar al-Sham and Jaysh al-Islam. The former has been linked to Al-Qaeda and both groups exhibit such extremist behavior that they differ from Al-Qaeda in name only.
Okay — Jaysh al-Islam only wants to take over Syria while Al-Qaeda wants a larger footprint. Local Jihadist vs. Global Jihadist …
Anyway, check out the State Department’s reaction on May 11, 2016 when publicly confronted with Team Obama’s support for these extremists.
There’s too much evidence to refute this fact: America is NOT supporting moderates in Syria. And that means the US is risking another Afghanistan and Towers incident.
Trump is wrong about Obama being the founder of ISIL, but the administration did something else to enable ISIL’s that’s just as dangerous.
I wrote a while ago that Team Obama ignored intelligence reports of ISIL’s emergence at least two years prior to the movement snowballing into the mainstream media.
Team Obama more or less said “Oops, my bad” while telling us they mistakenly relegated ISIL to JV squad status during the group’s early days.
But that excuse doesn’t stand up to the facts.
The same block-lettered intelligence breifing Team Obama ignored made the following prediction in block letters:
THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY OF ESTABLISHING A DECLARED OR UNDECLARED SALAFIST PRINCIPALITY IN EASTERN SYRIA (HASAKA AND DER ZOR), AND THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THE SUPPORTING POWERS [The West, Turkey and the Gulf states] TO THE OPPOSITION WANT, IN ORDER TO ISOLATE THE SYRIAN REGIME, WHICH IS CONSIDERED THE STRATEGIC DEPTH OF THE SHIA EXPANSION (ITAQ AND IRAN).
Isolating the Assad regime and checking Shia influence are enablers to delivering “What the supporting powers want.”
This explains the US’s odd behavior in this civil war — dragging its feet to bomb ISIL’s stolen oil facilities which became a major revenue source for the rogue state more than a year after America launched air strikes; observing ISIL’s geographic reach expand in the face of those air strikes, until Russian planes conducted strikes of its own; US-managed arms shipments which seem to find their way to Al-Qaeda or some other jihadist group; Team Obama’s lack of willingness to mention or do anything else about Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait or Qatar supporting jihadists in Syria.
Hell, I can’t even use the term “Syrian rebels” because many of the fighters jihadists are not Syrian and have been imported from at least a dozen countries.
Syria’s civil war is really a mercenary war. US is fully aware of this fact, but has done nothing to stop the stream of so-called rebels from entering the conflict.
The US has even used the media to rebrand some terrorist groups as kind and gentle ones. Al-Nusra Front has been linked to Al-Qaeda for years, but the Wall Street Journal calls Nusra moderates when referring to the conflict principals who control land in Syria:
The other areas listed are largely dominated by moderate rebel factions or Islamist groups, such as Ahrar al-Sham and the al Qaeda-affiliated Nusra Front.
By the way, Al-Nusra Front is attempting advance its rebranding by changing its name to Jabhat Fateh Al-Sham and supposedly severing ties with Al-Qaeda. If the past serves as a guide, we’ll eventually accept that story and continue to talk about how electing Donald Trump will be the best thing that’s ever happened to ISIL …
